Award Winning Tiffany Blue Home Office

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Designer Credits: Deborah Bettcher

Project Overview:

The goal for this design project was to create a chic workspace for an uber stylish corporate dynamo within a guest room which must include the brown sleeper sofa, while also using the homeowner’s collage of Philadelphia City Hall as inspiration.

The “Tiffany Blue” found in the homeowner’s artwork offered the perfect starting point for the color scheme. The arch of the keystone valance reflects the iconic architecture of the city hall building. The key theme is subtly repeated in the fun fabric selected for the window topper, as well as in the handles of the hip hair on hide covered boxes on the shelves. The rich brown finish of the sophisticated desk balances of the “weight” of the brown sleeper on the opposite side of the room. Likewise, an elegant wing chair with green contrast welt works well adjacent to the high back ivory leather executive chair. The soft taupe rug offers neutral foundation that ties this elongated space together. This taupe hue is reiterated on the back wall of the shelving unit. Stiletto themed prints, Jonathan Adler sculptures and most of all, the Mrs Poodle lamp add a touch of whimsy that is perfectly suited to the client’s sense of humor.

This room was awarded the 2019 Dream Room Award.
