Warm and Cozy Family Room

Location: West Chester, PA

Designer Credits: Deborah Bettcher

Project Overview:

This family room has evolved over time. First the hardwood was continued throughout the great room area. A warm earthy rug established the color scheme. The wide open space still lacked intimacy. So we introduced wooden screen with an Asian motif. As the homeowners got established in their home, they decided to replace the textural drapery with a breezy linen that has a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired pattern that subtly relates to the wood screen. The corners of the stone and wrought iron cocktail table were causing too many bruised shins. We opted for a handcrafted round one that combined wood and iron. The most recent addition is the precious “Fox in the Snow” painting by local artist, Georganna Lenssen that was lovingly framed by Celeste of the Frame Nook in Villanova. An exquisite custom leather sofa will be arriving in the fall.
