Soothing Family Room

The homeowner requested that I complete the design of their entire new home as soon as possible to bring comfort to his wife, who was battling cancer. They wanted high quality furnishings. This was early October of 2022. There were still supply chain issues and shipping delays due to the pandemic. I would need to rely on in stock and quick ship products to satisfy their needs. By mid December, the family room, dining room, primary bedroom and entry were complete.

Project Overview:

Since the family room would be where she would be spending most of her time, it was important that is was comfortable with no sharp corners and soothing. The leather swivel chairs and ottomans with casters offer flexibility when friends and family visit.  The television that  is the primary focal point, so we selected an artful console with an impressive stone front. Embroidered roman shades soften the light from the many windows surrounding the room. The plush wool rug offers a cozy foundation. When I began the project, the family gathered at nearby Longwood Gardens for treasured group photos. These became even more precious when she passed away just a few months later. So I had these framed and created a gallery wall to preserve her memory.
