Three Season Sunroom

This newly retired technological innovator is ready to sit back and savor life – whether digging his garden, relaxing with a good book, entertaining a few friends or playing with his dog. The three season sunroom had been a catchall since he moved in 5 years earlier. Not only does it offer the prospect of adding so much space to the first floor, but also an inspiring view of the gardens. Now is the time to make it livable.

Project Overview:

The long rectangular shape of the room enables us to create two groupings- one for dining and the other for relaxing and chatting. The neutral wall color provides a fresh backdrop to the earthy color scheme that was chosen to coordinate with the existing floor tiles, valances and table. The Mid Century Modern style is perfect for the casual mood and color palette. Since the bold area rug does all the talking, there is a minimal use of pattern otherwise. The variety of materials give the space character. The artful lounge chairs and black wishbone dining chairs work well together and unify the groupings. The Asian inspired floor lamp provides a nice accent. The mahogany “Mad Men-esque” bar was a splurge. But darn it- he deserves it!
